New Basketmakers
Journal
The world
wide web has changed markedly since the beginning of BasketMakers.com back
in 2001. A new lexicon of web technologies has developed since that time and
in hopes of staying current I have been working intently on a variety of
means to keep you up to date on the news of the basketmaking community. I
have taken the wraps off my new web journal and I hope you will consider
subscribing. I have also been working on extensions of the main site onto
YouTube,
Google
Calendar,
Facebook,
Twitter,
Issuu and
Flickr.
I will welcome your feedback on these new features. Please leave your
comments, subscribe or follow me. If you request friend status on

or any of the other social networking sites, be sure to mention your
involvement in basketry.

guild exhibits of baskets; basketweaving conferences, conventions, master
level basketry workshops, classes, demonstrations, and instructional venues;
lectures by and about basketmakers or basket artists, major crafts shows,
markets, festivals and sales events featuring traditional and contemporary
basketmaking, along with call to entry opportunities for fiber artists and
basketweavers.

The location for the 2013 edition of the National Basketry
Organization's Biennial Conference has been announced as
Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in
Gatlinburg, TN. Dates are October 8-13, 2013. Save the date!
