Sometimes finding a basketry related book or other publication can be a very difficult thing to do. Often this type of publication is originally self-published or published by a small press. In many cases the book was published in a small run to begin with and fell out of print rapidly. Trying to find some of these books may end up being an elusive search, but if you are patient and persistent you will probably be successful in the end.

Let me share with you some of my favorite online book search utilities and other strategies for locating that basketry book that you may have thought you would never find.

Small Press And Self Published Basketry Books

Sometimes the best way to locate a small press or self published book, periodical, pamphlet, folio, or other publication is to contact the author or publisher directly.

American Willow Growers Network Newsletter Back Issues
Network of people dedicated to the growing and exploration of Salix. Annual newsletter is no longer in production, but some back issues are available.

Math In A Basket
Billie Ruth Sudduth offers her book written for teachers, parents and students who would like to include basketry in their math projects.

Just Patterns
Quarterly Michigan based publication for basketmakers. Each issue contains four or more patterns.

Fiberarts : the Magazine of Textiles
Contemporary fiber arts trends are explored, a competition and show listing is included and cover profiles of individual artists are featured.

Interweave Press
Basketry books authored by Elizabeth Jensen,
Flo Hoppe, Bernard and Regula Verdet-Fierz are offered along with titles about other fiber arts.
